I'm really trying to wrack my brains for examples. Production is part of the finished record, so, yes, there could be the idea of good songwriting and arrangement, but badly captured, but my brain doesn't think that way.

There's an album by Dogs Die In Hot Cars that quite a fun poppy album, but what they've done to the singer's voice really annoys me. I dont know what it is, but I get a bit of listening fatigue. It's not his actual voice, it's something else.
Rid of Me by PJ Harvey, I absolutely love, but I think some of the songs sound compressed when they should be more explosive. Polly loves Albini's recording of it, so it might be just me.
