Hello all KVR Audio Forum Topic Readers,
On Wednesday, October 30th, 2024 we had a MASSIG meeting with Juho Tuomainen (WG Chair and Master Student of Computer Science from the University of Eastern Finland), Vanessa Faschi (WG Backup Chair), Athan Billias (MIDI Association Executive Board Member), Brian Waldon from Riban Ltd, Haim Kairy from Arcana Instruments and Jay Pocknell, the Music Support Officer from the Culture, Media and Immersive Technologies Team of RNIB present there. We talked about the successful presentations at Music China 2024. An interesting fact was that there were a lot of Chinese speakers this time in the presentation interested in hearing information about the Music Accessibility Standard (MAS). There were about 75 people in the audience of the MAS presentation. In addition to the MAS presentation, we also had a MIDI Innovation Awards presentation, featuring MASSIG products UniMIDI Hub from Audio Modeling and Arcana Strum from Arcana Instruments there. We also briefly discussed the Sound Without Sight's MuseScore Workshop (an online event in October 17th, 2024 featuring a blind screen reader user of MuseScore demonstrating his skills to use the free and open source music notation software on a monthly meet-up session of Sound Without Sight). Furthermore, we also discussed the plans for ADC (Audio Developers Conference), coming in two weeks in Bristol, UK (from November 11th to 13th, 2024). You can read more about it by going to .
Kind regards,
Juho Tuomainen, WG Chair
