I haven't had a lot of trouble installing things from it, but I have issues for sure. At times it is slower than using a web browser, in which case I go to the site to download the most recent versions. I doubt .97 does something .89 doesn't on my system but I don't know. Right now, having scrubbed everything but the plugins from my drive it went from fairly snappy to stuck at 0% so it's back to the web browser. The only plus side to them is this, at least the downloaders are stored there. Unlike Native Access, and unlike Vienna Assistant.
Their support I have one experience with, today I heard back regarding my issue. There are things in ILok LM that are machine-activations with no options otherwise. This is not an iLok problem. Support told me to address this in Softube Central which has no such capability. They didn't read my question or they have a reading disability. And they don't understand their own application.
And using that thing is a nightmare. I don't think I've ever had it open without having to deal with Softube Helper. SC prompts me to delete this - first of all there is no such file, it's an uninstaller app - even when there is no such uninstaller to be found, I've already done this step. BTW it's found with all the other uninstallers in Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Softube.
The only remedy for this is find the installer for Helper at their site.
Mac
Windows
I can put up with the installer's retardation, but I'm totally not comfortable having only machine activations and there doesn't appear to be any help for it. In which case I certainly will never buy from them again. At this point I don't think there is any use for Softube Central at all, I'd rather go to the site and check for an update, as meaningful as this is or isn't going to be.
